Directions to State House Inn

The State House Inn is located at 101 E. Adams St., in downtown Springfield. Access to the parking lot is from Adams St. (one way west) or 2nd St. (two-way). On-street parking is legal on most streets in the area. Parking meters are not enforced on weekends.

If you are coming from the north, follow I-55 to exit 98 (Clear Lake Ave.) If you are coming from the east, follow I-72 directly into town (take no exits) and it will become Clear Lake Ave.

Once you are on Clear Lake Ave., follow it into downtown (approximately 3 miles). You will pass a K-mart on the left, and a "Chevy-on-a-stick" on the left. The road will become Jefferson St. as you reach downtown. Turn left (south) on 2nd Street. Go two blocks. Turn right (west) on Adams St. The State House Inn will be immediately on your right.

To get back out of the city, take either 1st or 2nd Streets north 3 blocks to Madison St. Turn right (east) on Madison St. and follow it out of downtown. It will become Clear Lake Ave. and eventually take you back to the expressway where you started.

If you are coming from the south, follow I-55 to Exit 92 (a left-side exit) and it will become South 6th Street. If you are coming from the west, take I-72 to exit 97 (South 6th Street.)

Once you are on South 6th Street, follow it into downtown (approximately 4 miles, much of it on a one-way street). You will pass a Walmart on the right and go under two railroad viaducts and the Springfield Clinic. Turn left (west) on Capitol Ave. Go four blocks to a T-junction in front of the State Capitol. Turn right (north) on 2nd Street. Go two blocks to Adams St. Turn left (west) on Adams St. The State House Inn will be immediately on your right.

To get back out of the city, take either Washington St. (one block north of Adams) or Monroe St. (one block south of Adams) east to 5th Street, turn right (south) on 5th Street, and follow it back to the expressway (about 4 miles).

The State House Inn is within easy walking distance of the Springfield Amtrak station. The train station is located along 3rd Street between Jefferson and Washington Streets. To get to the State House Inn, walk west one block (with traffic on Jefferson St., or against traffic on Washington St.) to 2nd Street, and turn left (south). Adams St. is one block south of Washington St. Turn right (west) on Adams and the State House Inn is on your right.

There are a number of restaurants in downtown Springfield, most of them east of the playing site. The nearest area with fast food is on West Jefferson between Lewis and Walnut, about four blocks west and two blocks north of the playing site.

Remember that with the exception of prepackaged snacks such as candy and chips, outside food must not be brought into the playing rooms. Adequate meal breaks have been included in the schedule between rounds for this purpose.
